“Ptujske zgodbe o kavi, the coffee stories of Ptuj”
The Coffee Stories of Ptuj, fourth festival of coffee and café culture, will join International Coffee Day under the auspices of the International Coffee Organization.
Welcome to Ptuj! This year we focus our attention on women in the coffee industry with a social café night hosted by REUSE CENTER in ORMOŽ CASTLE, which will highlight the importance of sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, social innovations, ‘green’ jobs and women in the coffee industry. On 29 September the main square in Ptuj – presumably the oldest town in Slovenia – will host the ‘painting colony’ to mark International Coffee Day. The day after, 30 September, art works will be displayed at the HOTEL MITRA in Ptuj (and will be available until 7 October).
This is believed to be the first festival of coffee and café culture in Slovenia. It brings together the historical, cultural, social, and culinary aspects of coffee. It is focused on specialized coffee providers, coffee for professional users, small-batch roasters, coffee suppliers, and everyone linked to coffee. The festival is accompanied by a number of cultural and educational events, while local hospitality providers offer a variety of treats and accommodation.
We start our day with a cup of coffee saying “If there is no bread, you better take some cake”.
