Free brewed coffee when you bring your own cup to our booth!
“Riding on the Third Wave of Coffee” is held in conjunction with International Coffee Day and the National University of Singapore (NUS) World Food Week. Through this event, we aim to raise awareness on the Third Wave Coffee Movement, the sustainable coffee trade, as well as health implications of consuming coffee.
We are brewing free coffee to people who bring their own cups/tumblers to our booth, and we are having free coffee brewing workshops for coffee enthusiasts to try out the V60 brewing method. Participants will be guided on how to enjoy black coffee by consciously tasting the inherent notes of single-origin coffee beans.
Coffee lovers in NUS should drop by our booth to learn more about coffee and the various manual brewing methods! Our event will elevate your future caffeine experiences!
The College of Alice and Peter Tan (CAPT) Coffee Interest Group was established in 2016, by two enterprising, young founders in their 4th year of study in the National University of Singapore (NUS). Brought together by their passion for coffee, the duo – a home barista who loves the manual brewing methods, and an experienced cafe barista who has pictures of latte arts filling his instagram – aims to achieve 4 objectives through this interest group:
1) To share the joy of coffee brewing
2) To promote environmental sustainability
3) To bridge communities with coffee as a medium
4) To encourage the entrepreneurial spirit within the college
